Elektron Tonverk

The Elektron Tonverk is an advanced multi-track sampling workstation with eight audio tracks, four bus tracks, three send tracks, and one dedicated mix track designed for routing, sampling, and complex sound processing.

Sound Architecture

Tonverk provides a wide palette of tools for capturing and sculpting sound. It offers two methods of sampling: a direct Recorder for straightforward internal or external audio capture, and an Auto Sampler that uses MIDI to create detailed multisamples from any instrument. Once captured, material can be shaped through an extensive list of effects, new sound processors, and deep modulation options.

Machines

Each audio track can host one of several machines tailored to different workflows. The Single Player machine handles individual WAV files in mono or stereo, allowing polyphonic playback, loop point editing, and crossfade smoothing for seamless looping. The Multi Player machine loads full multisampled instruments, enabling expressive polyphonic play, with the Auto Sampler available to build custom libraries. The Subtracks machine expands a single track into eight independent monophonic layers, each with its own sequencer and parameter set, effectively multiplying creative options. Alternatively, a track can be switched into MIDI mode, transforming it into a dedicated MIDI track for external gear control.

Routing and Processing

Tonverk stands out with its routing flexibility. The combination of audio, bus, send, and mix tracks creates a modular environment where signals can be reshaped, blended, and redirected internally or externally. With a broad selection of effects and modulation, users gain a versatile processing playground capable of intricate sound design or straightforward mixing.

Like other Elektron instruments, Tonverk maintains a performance-driven workflow, combining immediacy with depth. The sequencer integrates tightly with its machines, and the flexible track structure allows tracks within tracks, layered polyphony, and dynamic re-routing.
