The Gamechanger Audio MOTOR Pedal is a fully playable electro-mechanical synth voice that tracks pitch in real time, transforming your instrument into a unique sound engine built around a genuine spinning brushed DC motor.

Unlike emulations or analogue modelling, the MOTOR Pedal generates its core sound from a real brushed electromotor block. The pedal locks the motor’s rotational speed precisely to the fundamental frequency of the input, whether from guitar, bass or microphone. A built-in pickup and sensor system converts this physical movement into raw electric audio, producing textures that range from glitchy growls to metallic resonances. The motor lifespan typically reaches 3,000–5,000 hours of playing, with a replaceable module indicated by the pedal’s check engine light.

The innovative spring-loaded expression pedal offers both standard and floor-it ranges, selectable for accelerate, brake, clutch, volume swells and drift, allowing expressive real-time manipulation. The pedal also features five synthesis modes: Motor, MXD cross-modulation, M-Wave digital oscillator, Coil Mode resonant drive and Vocoder. Each mode extends the sonic possibilities, from hard-synced multitimbral voices to metallic hums or 24-band vocoding.

Further control comes via glide, vibrato, envelope shaping, an analogue tilt EQ, hard-clipping motor drive, and independent level controls for clean and motor outputs. Pitch intervals can be offset by octaves, fourths or fifths. With MIDI (5-pin and USB-C), dedicated track in/out, and firmware update functionality, the MOTOR Pedal integrates into modern and experimental setups with ease.
