The Gamechanger Audio PLUS Pedal II is an advanced sustain and spectral layering pedal for guitars, keyboards, orchestral instruments, microphones and other melodic sources, featuring a completely redesigned spectral sampling engine, dual resonance processing, automatic note layering, adjustable sustain behaviour, XLR microphone preamp, switchable effects loop and expanded performance controls for creating natural piano-style sustain, evolving textures and cinematic soundscapes.

Advanced Spectral Sampling Engine

The PLUS Pedal II builds on the concept of the original PLUS Pedal with an entirely redesigned sound engine that delivers faster response, greater reliability and improved tracking. Rather than generating synthetic sustain, the pedal captures the incoming signal using sophisticated spectral sampling technology that preserves the original instrument's harmonics, dynamics and tonal character.

The result feels far closer to natural piano sustain than conventional sustain pedals or freeze effects. Every captured layer retains the nuances of the original performance, allowing musicians to build rich harmonic textures while maintaining the identity of their instrument.

Dual Resonance Processing

A new Dual Resonance engine expands the harmonic content of sustained notes by introducing both upper and lower resonances. The dedicated Resonance control allows users to shape how these harmonics evolve as additional notes enter the sustain buffer.

This creates everything from subtle natural resonance to complex evolving ambient textures, making the pedal equally suitable for traditional performance, film scoring, experimental music and sound design.

Automatic Layering and Performance Control

One of the biggest additions to the PLUS Pedal II is the new Auto Catch mode. Instead of repeatedly engaging the sustain pedal, performers simply rest their foot on the brass pedal while the unit automatically captures every newly played note.

The dedicated Layers control determines exactly how notes accumulate. Users can select between one and ten layers for controlled harmonic stacking or choose Infinite mode, where older layers continuously merge into new material to create evolving soundscapes without interruption.

Adjustable Hold and Decay

The redesigned sustain engine offers precise control over how sustained notes behave over time. Users can adjust how quickly new layers enter, how long they remain active and how they fade away.

These controls allow the PLUS Pedal II to recreate realistic piano sustain, generate smooth ambient pads or produce continuously evolving drones depending on the application.

Optical Brass Performance Pedal

The signature brass foot pedal now incorporates gradual optical sensing, giving performers expressive control over the level of sustained layers while playing.

Rather than functioning as a simple on or off switch, the pedal responds continuously to foot movement, making sustained textures feel like an active part of the performance instead of a separate effect.

Visual Layer Monitoring

A circular halo display provides real-time visual feedback by showing the volume of every active sustain layer as musicians perform.

This makes it much easier to understand how notes accumulate during complex performances while providing immediate visual confirmation of the pedal's current state.

Integrated XLR Microphone Input

The PLUS Pedal II now includes a balanced XLR input with an integrated analogue microphone preamp. Users can connect microphones directly without requiring external preamps or additional pedals, greatly expanding the range of compatible instruments.

The microphone gain control allows optimal level adjustment, while the Kill Dry switch supports semi-acoustic and live performance applications where only sustained layers need to remain audible.

Flexible Effects Loop Routing

The redesigned analogue switching system allows external effects processors to occupy three different positions within the signal path.

Effects can process the dry signal before sustain generation, process the sustained layers afterwards, or sit inside the sustain engine where they affect only the captured wet signal. This flexibility allows musicians to create highly customised processing chains without changing pedalboard layouts.

Optional Performance Footswitch

The optional PLUS Pedal II Footswitch introduces three additional operating modes that expand live performance possibilities.

Wet Only mode removes the direct signal and outputs only sustained layers, making it ideal for ambient textures. Latch mode keeps the sustain engine permanently active and pairs perfectly with Auto Catch operation. Hide mode temporarily mutes the dry signal while notes enter the sustain engine, allowing audiences to hear only the evolving sustained layers.

Applications

The PLUS Pedal II works across a wide range of melodic instruments including electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, synthesisers, orchestral instruments and microphones.

Its natural sustain behaviour makes it suitable for recreating piano-style sustain on non-keyboard instruments, while the advanced layering engine also supports cinematic ambience, distorted guitar soundscapes, generative textures, experimental composition and immersive live performance.
