This approach supports faster playing while maintaining the precise pitch placement required by continuous-pitch instruments.

Unlike traditional keyboard instruments that rely on fixed tuning and discrete keys, the Continuum demands accurate finger positioning for every note. The TriOctave Pedal builds upon a performance concept pioneered by Oskar Sala during the 1930s on the Trautonium. Optimised for the Haken Audio Continuum

Haken Audio specifically optimises the TriOctave Pedal for use with Continuum and ContinuuMini firmware. The pedal consists of two Yamaha FC-5 footswitches housed within a custom 3D-printed non-slip enclosure that provides stable operation during performance.

The supplied TRS adapters allow direct connection to the Slim Continuum, ContinuuMini and Full or Half Size Thick Continuum models, ensuring compatibility across the Continuum product range.

Flexible Connectivity

The TriOctave Pedal integrates seamlessly with compatible Continuum instruments through dedicated pedal connections.

When connected to the Slim Continuum, the pedal uses the 3.5 mm I2C input, leaving both Pedal 1 and Pedal 2 available for additional controllers. This configuration allows performers to combine the TriOctave Pedal with a Yamaha FC-7 expression pedal and a Yamaha FC-3A or FC-3 continuous damper pedal for an expanded performance setup.

The ContinuuMini and Thick Continuum models also support the TriOctave Pedal, although they do not provide the Slim Continuum's three-pedal capability.
