The Harrison Flex-10 is a professional 10-in/12-out USB-C audio interface combining 32-bit/192 kHz conversion, two high-performance Harrison microphone preamps, H-DRIVE™ transformer saturation, classic 32 Series high-pass and low-pass filters, balanced analogue inserts, Hi-Z instrument inputs, ADAT I/O, MIDI connectivity, independent monitor outputs and dual headphone outputs in a desktop format designed to deliver Harrison’s renowned analogue character alongside modern recording flexibility.
Harrison has shaped professional recording since the 1970s, when founder Dave Harrison developed the celebrated 32 Series console. Harrison consoles went on to play a role in recordings by artists including Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Supertramp, Queen, ABBA and Michael Jackson, establishing a reputation for smooth analogue tone, musical processing and an engineer-focused workflow.
The Flex-10 brings that heritage into a compact audio interface. It combines technology inspired by Harrison’s classic consoles with contemporary digital conversion and connectivity, making it suitable for musicians, producers and engineers who want analogue character without sacrificing the flexibility expected from a modern recording system.
Two high-performance Harrison microphone preamps provide the Flex-10’s principal analogue recording paths. Each channel incorporates an H-DRIVE™ transformer circuit, allowing the engineer to move from clean, detailed capture towards richer transformer saturation.
This variable character makes the preamps suitable for sources that require transparency as well as recordings that benefit from greater harmonic colour. Vocals, acoustic instruments, guitars, basses, synthesisers and other sources can gain the smooth, musical character associated with traditional Harrison analogue circuitry before conversion takes place.
Harrison equips the Flex-10 with high-pass and low-pass filters derived from its iconic 32 Series console designs. These filters provide immediate analogue tone shaping at the recording stage.
The high-pass filter helps remove unwanted low-frequency information and control excessive bass energy, while the low-pass filter can soften unwanted high-frequency content and shape brighter sources. Together, they allow engineers to make purposeful tonal decisions before the signal reaches the DAW.
Two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs provide convenient connections for electric guitar, bass and other high-impedance sources. Their front-panel positioning makes instrument changes quick and practical during recording sessions.
The Flex-10 also provides two line-level inputs, allowing integration with synthesisers, drum machines, external preamps and other line-level studio equipment. This combination gives the interface the flexibility to handle both traditional recording sessions and modern electronic production setups.
Each of the two principal analogue channels includes a dedicated balanced insert point. These connections allow engineers to incorporate external processors directly into the recording signal path.
Compressors, equalisers, Harrison 500 Series processors and other analogue equipment can therefore become part of the front-end recording chain. The inserts give studios greater control over signal processing before conversion and make the Flex-10 particularly useful in hybrid analogue and digital workflows.
The Flex-10 combines its analogue front end with 32-bit conversion at sample rates up to 192 kHz. This high-resolution architecture captures detailed recordings while providing the precision required for professional production, editing, processing and mixing.
By pairing contemporary conversion with Harrison’s analogue circuitry, the Flex-10 allows engineers to capture character at the input stage while retaining the clarity and resolution expected from a modern digital recording system.
The Flex-10 operates as a 10-input, 12-output USB-C audio interface, providing enough connectivity for sophisticated desktop and mobile production systems.
Eight channels of ADAT input and output allow the system to expand beyond its onboard analogue connectivity. Engineers can connect compatible microphone preamps, converters and other ADAT-equipped hardware when a session requires additional channels, making the Flex-10 equally suited to compact setups and larger recording configurations.
Two independent stereo monitor outputs provide flexible routing for different speaker systems or monitoring destinations, with dedicated level controls allowing straightforward adjustment directly from the hardware.
Two high-current headphone outputs support simultaneous monitoring for an engineer and performer or collaborator. This arrangement makes the Flex-10 practical for overdubbing, collaborative production and recording sessions where separate headphone monitoring proves essential.
MIDI input and output through 3.5 mm TRS connections allow the Flex-10 to communicate with synthesisers, drum machines, controllers and other MIDI-equipped hardware. Producers can therefore integrate audio and MIDI equipment around a single interface without requiring a separate MIDI interface for straightforward studio configurations.
Front-panel VU meters provide visual signal monitoring while reinforcing the Flex-10’s classic studio aesthetic. Their analogue-style presentation complements the Harrison-inspired workflow and gives engineers an immediate visual reference while recording and monitoring.
The Flex-10 offers class-compliant operation with macOS and supports Windows systems through Harrison’s supplied ASIO driver. This compatibility allows the interface to integrate with contemporary computer-based studios across the major desktop production platforms.
Harrison includes a full licence for Mixbus 12, its analogue console-inspired DAW. Mixbus centres its workflow around traditional mixing-console principles and places Harrison console EQ directly within its channel architecture, creating a natural software counterpart to the Flex-10 hardware.
The included Harrison Creator Pack expands the production environment with virtual instruments, plug-ins, loops and samples from brands including Solid State Logic, Slate Digital, Sonible, Loopcloud, Applied Acoustics Systems, Native Instruments and IK Multimedia. The bundle covers synthesis, keys, guitar processing, studio effects and sample-based production, allowing users to build a comprehensive recording and production system around the interface.
Capture Harrison character at source: H-DRIVE™ transformer circuitry and Harrison filtering allow recordings to gain analogue colour before they reach the DAW.
Move between clean and coloured recordings: The analogue front end supports detailed capture as well as richer transformer-driven tones.
Build a hybrid recording chain: Balanced inserts make it straightforward to incorporate favourite compressors, EQs and 500 Series processors.
Expand when sessions become larger: ADAT I/O adds up to eight channels of digital connectivity for compatible external equipment.
Connect instruments without disrupting the setup: Front-mounted Hi-Z inputs provide fast access for guitar, bass and other instrument-level sources.
Control multiple monitoring destinations: Independent stereo monitor outputs and two headphone outputs support flexible studio and collaborative workflows.
Integrate electronic instruments: Line inputs and MIDI I/O make the Flex-10 well suited to synthesisers, drum machines and hybrid production rigs.
Start with a comprehensive software package: Mixbus 12 and the Harrison Creator Pack provide recording, mixing, instruments, effects, loops and samples alongside the hardware.
