True to the Original Circuit
The circuit design remains faithful to the original 47 FET schematic, employing 100 percent through-hole components for reliability and sonic integrity. Modern low-noise field-effect transistors (FETs) reduce self-noise, while high-grade Wima film capacitors, precision resistors, polystyrene and tantalum capacitors maintain the microphone’s vintage tonal character with improved consistency and low distortion.
Integrated Pads and High-Pass Filter
The H47Fet includes two dedicated pad switches, offering -10 dB and -6 dB attenuation options. Engineers often combine both pads to capture high-SPL sources such as kick drums without distortion, made possible by the inclusion of a custom-designed output transformer unique to this model. The microphone also features a 200 Hz high-pass filter switch, positioned on the base of the body, providing effective control over low-frequency rumble and proximity effect.
