The Heiserman Type-19 is a compact, high-performance large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for demanding studio environments, offering a wide frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, multiple polar patterns, high SPL handling, and exceptional durability.
Handcrafted Capsule Technology
The foundation of the Type-19 lies in its precision-engineered HK47 capsule, entirely designed, machined, and assembled in the USA. Featuring 6 micron gold-sputtered Dupont mylar, the HK47 provides tonal characteristics inspired by classic U47 microphones, delivering rich, musical detail across the frequency spectrum. Heiserman's meticulous in-house capsule production ensures consistent sonic performance with modern reliability.
Flexible Polar Patterns and Circuitry
The Type-19 offers selectable Cardioid, Omni, and Figure-8 polar patterns, providing versatile recording options for various studio applications, including vocals, drums, strings, and brass. Its circuit design, developed in collaboration with industry engineers, integrates a custom high-pass filter at 160 Hz and a -15 dB pad, optimising performance in both delicate and high-SPL environments.
Performance-Driven Design
With an output impedance of 42 Ohms and the ability to withstand a maximum sound pressure level of 130 dB (145 dB with the pad engaged), the Type-19 delivers clarity and control even under the most challenging conditions. The softly illuminated logo, powered by the integrated circuit, not only adds visual appeal but forms part of the microphone’s operational system.
Compact Form with Professional Durability
Measuring 5.5 inches in length and 2 inches in diameter, the Type-19 fits easily into tight recording spaces without compromising its robust construction. Its American-made build quality ensures longevity, precision, and reliability for professional recording engineers who require effortless results at the source.
