The IK Multimedia ARC STUDIO+ is a standalone hardware room-calibration processor featuring ARC X correction, balanced analogue connections, USB-C digital input, optical S/PDIF input and output, automatic subwoofer management and three front-panel presets in an all-aluminium enclosure.

Accurate Monitoring Across Studio Environments

ARC STUDIO+ combines the original ARC STUDIO’s dedicated hardware correction approach with expanded connectivity, computer-free calibration and integrated monitoring control. Its ARC X measurement and correction engine addresses room-induced frequency-response irregularities, spectral imbalances and timing inconsistencies, helping engineers make more reliable mixing decisions.

The processor applies correction outside the DAW, so monitoring does not depend on a correction plug-in or software routing. This architecture supports console-based, hybrid and in-the-box workflows, while near-zero processing latency maintains responsive monitoring during recording and production.

Standalone and Multi-Point Room Calibration

ARC STUDIO+ offers two calibration methods to suit different working environments. Standalone one-touch calibration provides a rapid, computer-free measurement from a single listening position. Connecting the supplied ARC MEMS measurement microphone and holding the front-panel calibration button starts the automatic measurement process. This approach suits temporary studios, location work and rooms that require frequent setup changes.

For more detailed room analysis, ARC X supports measurements across 1, 3, 7 or 21 positions. Multi-point measurement captures spatial variations around the listening area and builds a three-dimensional representation of the monitoring environment. ARC X then creates correction profiles for upload to ARC STUDIO+, which runs them independently during everyday use.

Integrated Subwoofer Management

A dedicated subwoofer output brings stereo and 2.1 monitoring into the same correction system. ARC STUDIO+ detects a connected subwoofer and configures the output routing, simplifying integration with the main monitors.

Automatic phase and level alignment analyses the interaction between the subwoofer and main speakers, then applies adjustments to improve low-frequency coherence and balance at the listening position. Internal crossover management controls crossover points and slopes to support a smooth transition between the monitors and subwoofer, reducing excessive overlap, cancellation and bass build-up.

Profile storage supports full-range and 2.1 configurations, allowing engineers to recall different monitoring arrangements without repeating the calibration process.

Balanced Analogue and Digital Connectivity

Balanced combo XLR/TRS inputs and balanced XLR outputs accommodate professional analogue monitoring systems. Relay-controlled hard bypass isolates the correction circuitry from the analogue signal path when bypass operates, supporting direct comparisons between corrected and uncorrected playback.

USB-C digital input and optical S/PDIF input and output expand integration with digital sources and monitoring chains. Optical digital connections allow compatible systems to retain a digital signal through the correction stage without adding an analogue conversion step.

Transparent Conversion and Processing

ARC STUDIO+ combines mastering-grade conversion with premium internal clocking, a dynamic range greater than 120 dB(A) and a frequency response of 0.5 Hz to 40 kHz. Low distortion and jitter support accurate signal reproduction, while near-zero processing latency keeps monitoring responsive.

Together, the conversion architecture and ARC X correction engine improve monitoring consistency while preserving the inherent character of the loudspeakers.

Three Presets for Monitoring Control

Three onboard presets store complete configurations, including the calibration profile, speaker routing, subwoofer status and input selection. Dedicated front-panel buttons provide immediate recall, while ARC X also provides access to preset selection.
