KMR Audio - Kerwax Replica RevC
Hand-built 2-channel tube line preamplifier featuring selectable mid/side processing, dual 12AX7 valves, precision EQ, variable harmonic distortion up to 80%, balanced XLR I/O, and a full-range frequency response from 30 Hz to 27 kHz, all housed in a robust 5U chassis designed for professional mastering and mix workflows.

The Kerwax Replica RevC is a professional-grade, 2-channel tube line preamplifier equipped with mid/side (M/S) processing, high-voltage tube circuitry, EQ control, and stereo imaging tools, all housed in a hand-crafted 5U rackmount chassis.

Vintage Tube Tone with Precision Engineering

Adapted from the revered 24-channel custom mixer at Kerwax Studio, the Replica RevC brings the sonic essence of vintage tube desks into a compact format suitable for modern workflows. Its dual-channel layout enables precise processing of mono sources or stereo stems with authentic tube-driven warmth. By selecting and driving dual 12AX7-type tubes, users can achieve harmonically rich saturation ranging from subtle enhancement to bold distortion. Independent gain and output controls, alongside bias settings, provide nuanced control over the harmonic content and signal dynamics.

Mid/Side Processing for Spatial Depth

The built-in M/S mode lets engineers manipulate stereo width with surgical control, making it a powerful tool for mastering chains or for creative sound design. Transform mid and side elements independently to sculpt stereo image depth and presence without compromising mono compatibility.

Hand-Made Analogue Design

Built entirely by hand in France using locally sourced components, the Replica RevC exemplifies premium craftsmanship. Its robust analogue circuitry supports a standard +4 dBu line level with a maximum output of +20 dBu. The frequency response extends from 30 Hz to 27 kHz with a -1.5 dB tolerance, offering wide-band clarity while allowing up to 80% total harmonic distortion for creative colouration.

Detailed Tone Shaping Controls

Each channel features treble and bass EQ with ±10 dB of boost or cut, and a selectable high-pass filter at either 80 Hz or 120 Hz at 6 dB per octave, ensuring users can sculpt low-end energy and high-end detail with precision.

Professional Form Factor

The unit fits a standard 5U rack, measures 483 x 342.5 x 222 mm, and weighs 10.6 kg, making it ideal for both fixed studio installations and high-end mastering suites. It operates within a thermal range of 10°C to 35°C and stores safely between 0°C and 50°C. Power requirements are 115V or 230V, with a 27W draw.

A Studio-Grade Solution

The Kerwax Replica RevC offers unmatched tonal versatility and stereo imaging control, making it indispensable for mastering engineers, mix engineers, and analogue purists seeking a premium, tube-based signal processor with M/S flexibility and heritage-inspired sound design.
