The Mercury M76m/1 MkIV is a cutting-edge studio microphone amplifier that combines the rich, warm tonality of the vintage Telefunken/Siemens V76m module with modern features such as Phantom Power, Phase Control, Level Control, and a High/Low Impedance switch. It is all housed in a robust 2U unit featuring four transformers and four tubes per channel.

Vintage Inspiration, Modern Craftsmanship

Inspired by the renowned Telefunken/Siemens V76m modules used in European broadcast and recording studios during the late 1950s and 60s, the M76m/1 MkIV captures its predecessor's iconic sound and aesthetic. These original modules, which became rare and highly sought after due to limited production, were preserved and revered even after the advent of transistor consoles. The Mercury M76m/1 MkIV honours this legacy by faithfully recreating the original circuit while incorporating modern enhancements that ensure reliability and performance for today’s studios.

Uncompromised Quality and Performance

Mercury Recording Equipment has leveraged over 20 years of experience in repairing, rebuilding, and refining the V76 modules to produce the M76m/1 MkIV. This modern studio microphone amplifier maintains the same open, warm tonality as the original, utilising a transformer-balanced, dual-stage, high-gain amplifier design. With meticulous attention to detail, the M76m/1 MkIV includes four custom-made transformers and four tubes per channel, ensuring the highest audio fidelity.

Advanced Features for the Modern Studio

While the M76m/1 MkIV stays true to its vintage roots, it also introduces several modern features that make it a versatile tool in any professional studio. These features —Phantom Power, Phase Control, Level Control, and a High/Low Impedance switch—are not found on the original V76m or even in custom racked units, positioning the M76m/1 MkIV as a benchmark in contemporary tube microphone amplifiers.

Crafted with Precision and Durability

Built without compromise, the M76m/1 MkIV employs the highest quality components, including Mercury FDI Circuit, custom USA-made transformers, WIMA capacitors, DALE military-grade 1% resistors, and an Audio Foil capacitor. The unit’s new Toroidal PSU Transformer and updated PSU circuit further enhance its performance, ensuring reliable operation in demanding studio environments. Weighing 24 lbs and occupying 3U of rack space, the M76m/1 MkIV is a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication to excellence that defines Mercury Recording Equipment.
