Exceptional Low-Frequency Performance
Experience deep bass extension down to 30 Hz, allowing for accurate reproduction of low-frequency content without the need for a subwoofer in many applications.
The Neumann KH 350 is a three-way DSP-powered nearfield and midfield studio monitor with a 30 Hz ±3 dB low-frequency extension, 32 Hz to 20 kHz ±1.25 dB linear response, Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide, integrated DSP, MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment support, analogue and AES3id digital connectivity, and a recommended listening distance of 1.2 to 3 metres for professional stereo, immersive, mixing, mastering, broadcast and post-production applications.
The Neumann KH 350 extends the KH monitor range into true midfield territory while retaining the tonal consistency and precision associated with the established KH series. Its three-way architecture delivers substantial low-frequency authority, detailed midrange reproduction and tightly controlled high-frequency performance, making it equally suited to demanding stereo installations and larger immersive monitoring systems.
Neumann specifies a linear frequency response of 32 Hz to 20 kHz ±1.25 dB, while low-frequency extension reaches 30 Hz at ±3 dB. This extended response allows the KH 350 to reproduce bass information with the depth and definition required for critical production decisions, reducing reliance on a subwoofer where the application does not require one.
Neumann designs the KH 350 for recommended listening distances between 1.2 and 3 metres, covering both nearfield and midfield monitoring positions. This flexibility makes it particularly useful in medium-sized control rooms where engineers need greater output and bass extension than a conventional compact nearfield monitor can provide.
The KH 350 also retains the precision required at shorter listening distances. Studios can therefore deploy it where substantial low-frequency output and controlled directivity matter, without committing exclusively to a traditional midfield listening position.
The KH 350 incorporates Neumann's Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide, which controls acoustic radiation across the listening area. The waveguide maintains consistent dispersion through the mid and high frequencies, helping the monitor preserve tonal balance and stereo imaging as listening position and distance change.
Controlled directivity also reduces unwanted interaction with nearby walls, consoles and other reflective surfaces. This behaviour gives engineers a more reliable representation of the source material and supports confident decisions regarding balance, spatial placement, EQ and dynamics.
Neumann combines its established midrange and tweeter platform with the MMD waveguide to deliver precise vocal and instrumental definition. The dedicated three-way design allows each driver to concentrate on a more focused frequency range, supporting clarity through the critical midband while maintaining smooth integration across the complete spectrum.
This architecture particularly benefits complex mixes, dialogue editing, mastering and immersive production, where engineers need to identify subtle changes in timbre, dynamics and spatial information.
The KH 350 uses a bass-reflex enclosure to achieve substantial low-frequency extension and headroom. Its response reaches 30 Hz ±3 dB, giving engineers access to deep bass information without sacrificing the precision expected from a professional reference monitor.
This extension makes the KH 350 suitable for material containing significant low-frequency energy, including electronic music, film scores, broadcast production and modern immersive mixes. The additional headroom also supports larger monitoring spaces and longer listening distances.
An integrated DSP engine manages the KH 350's signal processing and provides compatibility with Neumann MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment. MA 1 analyses the monitoring environment and optimises the system's frequency and phase response to improve accuracy at the listening position.
This capability allows studios to address room-dependent response variations while maintaining predictable monitor behaviour. MA 1 support also makes the KH 350 particularly valuable in multichannel and immersive rooms, where consistent alignment across numerous loudspeakers becomes increasingly important.
The KH 350 supports professional analogue and digital AES3id inputs via BNC, allowing integration into modern studio, broadcast and post-production infrastructures. Digital connectivity also complements Neumann's DSP-based monitoring ecosystem and provides a practical route into installations that already use digital signal distribution.
The monitor integrates with compatible network-enabled Neumann KH subwoofers and monitoring solutions, allowing studios to scale systems from conventional stereo configurations to sophisticated multichannel and immersive environments.
The KH 350 shares the tonal characteristics of Neumann's wider KH family, allowing engineers and system designers to combine it with other KH-Line monitors. This consistency provides considerable flexibility when configuring LCR, surround and immersive loudspeaker arrays.
Its combination of output capability, controlled dispersion and full-range response makes the KH 350 particularly well suited to primary LCR positions and larger channels within Dolby Atmos and other immersive monitoring systems. Studios can then select appropriately sized KH monitors for surround and height positions while retaining a coherent sonic reference throughout the room.
Neumann applies tight manufacturing tolerances to maintain close performance matching between individual KH 350 monitors. Consistency becomes especially important in stereo and multichannel systems, where variations between loudspeakers can compromise imaging, tonal balance and spatial accuracy.
Close unit-to-unit matching helps studios create predictable monitoring environments and supports reliable translation between the production room and other playback systems.
