Polyend has built upon the foundation of the original Play by upgrading its internal architecture, significantly boosting performance while preserving the compact and sleek form factor. This advancement enables a host of new features including stereo audio output, multitimbral synthesis engines, real-time performance enhancements, and USB audio streaming.

Multitimbral Polyphonic Synth Engine Collection

Play+ introduces multiple powerful synth engines, each offering distinct sonic characteristics. These engines are fully multitimbral and polyphonic, allowing simultaneous playback of different synthesiser voices across tracks. Users can instantly access a comprehensive library of professionally designed presets or fine-tune each engine using multi-macro controls for deep yet intuitive sound design.

Synth Engines

• ACD replicates the sound of iconic single-oscillator monophonic analogue synthesisers, with lightning-fast response and modern enhancements. It delivers both vintage acid tones and forward-thinking textures.
  
• FAT emulates the warmth of vintage analogue hardware using three virtual oscillators and includes authentic transistor ladder filter variations, enabling thick basslines, lush pads, and dynamic leads.
  
• VAP offers a dual-oscillator virtual analogue polysynth with pulse width modulation and a flexible modulation matrix, ideal for evolving pads, textures, and ambient FX.
  
• WTFM employs a 2-operator FM synthesis approach powered by sweeping wavetable oscillators with a three-way feedback system, capable of producing both metallic harmonics and smooth ambient tones.
• Drum Synthesis with PERC

The new PERC instrument introduced in firmware 1.1 brings extensive percussive capabilities to Play+. It features deep sound design potential with a wide selection of presets that cover classic drum machines such as the TR-808 and TR-909, as well as more experimental, glitch-influenced percussion.

Stereo Audio Engine

Play+ transitions from mono to true stereo audio, allowing for a wider and more immersive soundstage. The stereo capability enhances the clarity and depth of each track, adding nuance and spatial realism to complex arrangements.

USB Audio Multitrack Recording

Play+ supports seamless audio over USB, transmitting up to 14 stereo tracks independently to a connected DAW. This function facilitates detailed mixing, layering, and mastering with external effects or plug-ins, expanding creative flexibility in studio workflows.
