Three Independent Synth Engines
The Polyend Synth lets users simultaneously use three distinct synthesiser engines, each with dedicated sequencers or arpeggiators and separate effects, enabling complex and layered musical textures.
Polyend Synth is a multi-engine, polyphonic synthesiser that enables simultaneous operation of three independent synth engines, sequencers or arpeggiators, and effects within a single unified performance system.
The unit allows users to load and play three distinct synthesiser engines simultaneously, assign each one an individual sequencer or arpeggiator, and apply separate effects per voice. It exceeds typical multi-timbral behaviour by enabling real-time interaction across all elements, including full sequencing, modulation, macro control, and effects routing. Scenes store all engine parameters, effect configurations, and grid settings, offering instant recall.
Polyend Synth offers nine synthesis engines: VAP, a dual-oscillator virtual analogue model influenced by classic synths like the OB-8 and Prophet; PHZ, a modern phase distortion engine with advanced modulation; ACD, an analogue-style engine inspired by monophonic legends such as the SH-101 and TB-303, with polyphony support; FAT, a powerful three-oscillator virtual analogue engine with ladder filters and detune control; PMD, a physical modelling engine for percussive or realistic instrument textures; GRAIN, a two-mode granular engine with burst and cloud playback and paraphonic support; WAVS, a dual-wavetable engine with phase warping and scanning control; WTFM, a two-operator FM engine driven by wavetable oscillators and a three-way feedback matrix.
Each engine can run its own sequencer or arpeggiator with full control over swing, gate length, groove, octave range, and scale-aware transposition. This allows complex, layered sequencing across all three engines simultaneously, with dynamic adaptation to harmonic content.
Smart Grid technology simplifies performance with instant chord triggering, scale locking, and note following. It ensures harmonic cohesion and intuitive note entry, reducing the risk of dissonance during live interaction.
Each pad responds independently to pressure, enabling expressive control over up to five parameters per voice. Customisable combo knobs serve as global or individual macros that manipulate any engine, effect, or parameter, allowing simultaneous multi-voice modulations such as filter sweeps or timed buildups.
Three onboard effects—MOD, DEL, and REV—can be routed independently. MOD spans chorus, phaser, and flanger effects with flexible feedback. DEL offers a dual delay with five algorithms, supporting both synced and free-tempo configurations. REV includes three reverb models—Natural for spatial realism, Plate for bright metallic textures, and Warp for experimental ambience.
