The RME M-1610 Pro is a 16-channel AD / 8-channel DA converter with four ADAT optical outputs, redundant AVB and a choice of Coaxial or optical MADI connections.
The RME M-1610 Pro has 16 analogue inputs over DB25 connectors and is capable of handling up to +24dBu per channel. It also includes eight analogue outputs and additional headphone output.
The M-1610 Pro features some of the most requested features of the M-32 Pro AD and DA converters and adds user-friendly features for easier operation in the studio, live or broadcast. Some of these features include alternative Jack connections for some inputs and outputs, redundant network ports and quick access buttons for source selection and volume control.
All features can be controlled directly on the unit thanks for it convenient screen while RME AVB devices can be controlled remotely via a web interface on any network link including Wi-Fi. Allowing quick grouping of gain, phantom power, and signal routing.
Furthermore, the internal routing matrix displays clear controls of all channels including up to eight AVB streams (for a total of 128 channels), coaxial and optical MADI ports, All analogue I/O and ADAT outputs. This means incredibly flexible routing over the 272 inputs and 298 outputs.
The RME M1610 also includes very low conversion latency and configurable network delay down to 0.3ms allows for fast transmission of audio even from multiple devices, with time-aligned nanosecond accuracy across an entire network.
A lot of care has also been paid to the conversion stage including optimising filters for all sample-rates ensuring ultimate transparency. RME’s Steady Clock FS’s ultra low jitter technology also ensures state-of-the-art jitter rejection for superior conversion at any level and across all digital formats.
The M1610 comes with Coaxial MADI as standard but can be expanded with the SFP Module to increase the MADI channel count to 256 channels and MADI redundant operation.
