Rodec and Sherman have joined forces to bring back the cult filter sound in modular form. The Ministyler offers a stereo signal path, delivering raw, voltage-controllable analogue filtering with a unique twist. Users can modulate the filter frequency and mode via control voltage or by routing the audio signal itself, making it possible to drive dynamic, signal-reactive changes in tone. Frequency Modulation (FM) from the input allows the filter to evolve in real time, while beat-driven or auto-modulated movements unlock rhythmic possibilities rarely seen in stereo analogue filters.
Classic Sherman Filter Circuitry
At its core, the Ministyler uses the same Sherman filter topology that made the Filterbank legendary. It allows smooth morphing between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filtering, with selectable 12dB or 24dB/octave slopes. The resonance is fully self-oscillating, offering the ability to generate harmonic overtones, screaming filter peaks, or act as a playable sound source when pushed.
