Expand Your Mixing Capabilities
Transform your MX Modular console into a larger, versatile mixing environment with eight additional fader channels for enhanced control over more instruments and audio sources.
The MX Modular Expander is a professional analogue console expansion unit that adds eight fader channels, ten API 500 Series module slots, two additional stereo external inputs, two AUX sends and two BUSSES to an MX Modular mixing console while delivering fully integrated routing, control and monitoring across both units.
The MX Modular Expander transforms an MX Modular console into a larger and more versatile analogue mixing environment. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the main console, it increases channel count, expands processing options and introduces additional routing without changing the familiar workflow. Once connected, both units operate as a single console, allowing engineers to manage larger recording, mixing and summing sessions with complete confidence.
The expander increases the available channel count by adding eight additional fader channels. This extra capacity allows engineers to connect more instruments, outboard processors and playback sources while maintaining direct hands-on control across a larger analogue mixing surface.
The integrated rack provides ten API 500 Series slots, allowing users to install their preferred microphone preamps, equalisers, compressors and other compatible processors directly into the console. Housing processing within the desk creates a streamlined workflow, reduces external cabling and places essential analogue tools exactly where they are needed.
The MX Modular Expander adds two stereo external inputs, making it easy to integrate playback systems, external instruments, effects returns or additional audio sources. The expanded input capacity increases flexibility during recording, mixing and hybrid production workflows.
The expander introduces two additional AUX sends and two additional BUSSES, providing greater routing flexibility for effects processing, cue mixes, subgrouping and parallel processing. Engineers can link these routing paths with the master console for unified operation or operate them independently to create dedicated sub-mixes when projects demand more complex signal management.
When connected to the main MX Modular console, the expander functions as part of one complete mixing system. PFL, Mute and Solo controls remain fully synchronised across both units, allowing engineers to move effortlessly between channels without interrupting the workflow.
The integrated Programmable Mute Groups also operate across both units, enabling complex session management with simple control while maintaining consistency throughout the entire console.
The MX Modular Expander suits professional recording studios, mixing rooms and hybrid production environments that require greater channel capacity and integrated analogue processing. Its modular design allows studios to expand the console as requirements grow while preserving the workflow and sonic character of the original system.
