Versatile Analogue Filtering Options
The Ministyler offers continuous morphing between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass responses, allowing precise signal shaping from subtle tonal refinement to aggressive frequency manipulation.
The RODEC ONE Ministyler Max Bundle is a professional analogue processing system comprising the RODEC ONE 100-series platform, the Sherman-designed Ministyler stereo filter module, the M-102 Stereo Equaliser, and the M-108 Discrete Line Pre, delivering high-headroom analogue filtering, equalisation, saturation, modulation, and line-level amplification for synthesisers, drum machines, modular systems, DJ setups, and hybrid studio environments.
At the centre of the bundle sits the Ministyler, a stereo analogue filter module based on the legendary Sherman Filterbank circuitry. The filter continuously morphs between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass responses while offering selectable 12dB and 24dB filter slopes. This flexibility allows users to shape signals with precision, from subtle tonal refinement to aggressive frequency manipulation.
The resonance circuit extends beyond conventional filtering and reaches self-oscillation, allowing the filter to generate sine-wave tones and extreme harmonic peaks. This characteristic preserves the raw, energetic sound associated with the original Sherman Filterbank while adapting it for modern stereo workflows.
The Ministyler integrates extensive analogue modulation capabilities. External control voltage inputs provide direct interaction with modular systems, while FM modulation derived from the incoming audio signal creates dynamic and responsive movement. Audio-reactive modulation further enhances performance by allowing programme material to influence filter behaviour in real time.
These modulation sources can control both filter frequency and filter mode, creating evolving sweeps, rhythmic transitions, pulse-driven effects, and expressive performance gestures that respond naturally to the source material.
An integrated gain stage adds analogue saturation and harmonic enhancement while maintaining the unit’s high-headroom performance. The dedicated dry/wet control allows engineers and performers to blend processed and unprocessed signals with precision, making it possible to add subtle warmth, controlled distortion, or heavily coloured textures while retaining the integrity of the original signal.
The RODEC ONE serves as the foundation of the bundle and provides a professional-grade environment for modular, studio, and performance applications. Balanced stereo inputs and outputs ensure clean signal transfer throughout the system, while dedicated phono preamps with grounding support direct turntable connectivity.
The platform accommodates modern production workflows through CV connectivity, MIDI integration, pulse synchronisation, sidechain functionality, and seamless interaction with external hardware. This versatility allows the system to operate equally well within modular rigs, DJ performance setups, and hybrid DAW environments.
The RODEC ONE delivers up to +26dBu of balanced output headroom, ensuring exceptional dynamic range and clarity. High-level signals retain punch, depth, and detail without unwanted distortion, making the platform suitable for demanding live performances, studio tracking sessions, and analogue processing chains.
The M-102 Stereo Equaliser recreates the highly regarded equalisation circuit from the iconic Rodec MX-18 mixer. Its three-band analogue design provides independent control over Low, Presence, and High frequency ranges, with up to ±12dB of adjustment available on each band.
Unlike aggressive DJ-style isolator EQs, the M-102 focuses on musical tonal shaping. Engineers can enhance clarity, improve balance, and add depth without introducing harsh artefacts or fundamentally altering the character of the source material. The analogue circuitry preserves warmth while maintaining responsiveness and detail across the frequency spectrum.
This makes the M-102 equally effective for recording, mix enhancement, playback optimisation, and live sound applications where natural tonal control remains a priority.
The M-108 Discrete Line Pre delivers up to 70dB of gain for line-level sources including synthesisers, drum machines, samplers, and DAW outputs. Its circuit incorporates the same discrete vintage opamps found in the legendary Rodec M-501 input stage, bringing distinctive analogue depth, character, and clarity to modern production workflows.
The socketed six-pin opamp design allows users to experiment with alternative voicings, providing additional flexibility when tailoring tonal characteristics. Combined with its high-headroom architecture, the M-108 can add warmth and presence while maintaining exceptional detail and dynamic accuracy.
A dedicated output level control enables precise gain staging, while integrated LED metering provides constant visual feedback for optimal signal management during recording, mixing, and analogue processing applications.
