The Sontronics Sigma 2 is an active ribbon microphone building on its predecessor with upgraded electronics and premium custom wound transformer for a richer sound with fuller character.


The Sontronics Sigma 2 uses the same 1.8-micron ribbon and powerful neodymium magnets as the original and comes with a unique shock mount all housed in a robust ABS flight case for storage.


The Sigma 2 delivers the typical sound of ribbon microphones with its characteristic HF roll off. It captures sources with stunning clarity and detail and lends itself perfectly for recording vocals, brass, woodwinds, guitars, drums and much more. Active in design it requires +48V and will work easily with any mic preamp. It features extremely low noise and high sensitivity and therefore can be used for recording low-level instruments or sources. RFI filters also protect the microphone from unwanted interference.
