The Studio Electronics Omega 8 a is powerful 8-voice programmable polyphonic analogue synthesizer that is highly configurable thanks to its vast connectivity and deep MIDI control capabilities.
Studio Electronics made a name for their selves by modd’ing MiniMoogs into programmable, MIDI equipped performance machines back in the 80’s, and that lineage of creating uncompromising analogue synths has been a mainstay of their development process over the last four decades.
The Omega 8 is one of the company’s flagship machines, offering 8 discrete voices of analogue beauty, with two wide range oscillators, two modulation sources, three envelopes and a configurable* filter per voice.
*The factory standard filter boards are MiniMoog and Oberheim inspired circuits, but you can add Roland TB303, ARP 2600 or dual resonance Yamaha CS80 style filters via the two empty docking slots inside the machine.
Since OMEGA8 is fully multi-timbral and there’s eight stereo TRS jacks on the back of the unit to let you access and process each voice individually, for a true multi-timbral experience. This feature makes it a great tool for studio and live applications and its dense MIDI CC capabilities means full access of all of your timbres is right at your fingertips.
For those who desire some polyphonic goodness in their lives and are seeking out a super configurable synth that can access an array of vintage voicing, the OMEGA 8 is well worth your consideration.
