Granular and Sampling Power

GR-MEGA combines classic sampler behaviour with modern granular and spectral engines. It records through high-quality balanced stereo inputs and stores up to sixty minutes of audio per sample, with three minutes available in granular mode to maintain enormous polyphony. It supports mono and stereo sources at 48 kHz with 32-bit floating-point mixing for maximum headroom. The sampler engine offers looping, editable start and end points and slicing for rhythmic material, while granular processing creates dense textures from subtle diffusion to aggressive particle disintegration. Tape mode allows real-time pitch and time manipulation, while the spectral phase vocoder enables complex harmonic re-synthesis with up to three-voice polyphony and twelve-note chord mode per voice.

Multitimbrality and Performance

Four independent layers deliver a powerful multitimbral environment, each with twenty voices and independent modulation and sequencing. Up to 128 grains per voice result in harmonic clouds and evolving pads, especially when using the internal chord sequencer. MIDI connectivity includes DIN and USB, and musicians can play polyphonic textures directly or trigger sequences and arpeggios in multiple directions, including up, down, shuffle, random and play-order modes.

Engine Depth and Control

Engine modes include free rate, sync-size, scan and rate for precise granular behaviour. Loop modes such as bounce, wrap and kill shape playback flow, and spawn modes determine how grains distribute over time. The modulation matrix includes four LFOs per layer, twenty modulation sources and one hundred destinations, with four step-sequencer modulators for rhythmic control. Envelopes control pitch, filter, amplitude and a freely assignable auxiliary destination, each with adjustable curve shape, 0.1 ms to 45-second stages and AD-SR architecture.

Filtering and Effects

Every voice benefits from resonant low-pass and high-pass filters with selectable slopes and firmware-expandable models. Integrated effects include algorithmic reverbs, ping-pong and standard delays, overdrive and bit reduction, as well as compression to glue complex layers and dynamic textures. Four simultaneous effects run per patch, supporting intricate sound design without external processors.

Interface and Connectivity

GR-MEGA features a dimmable scratch-proof seven-inch display and high-quality tactile controls to adjust parameters instantly. Balanced stereo outputs deliver 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio, matched by balanced stereo inputs for clean capture. Connectivity extends to Ethernet for firmware updates and file sharing, USB-A for storage and keyboards, USB-C for DAW connection, HDMI for external monitoring and a Eurorack interface with CV and gate support. Internal 512 GB high-speed storage and a 32 GB USB stick provide extensive sample capacity.
