Immersive Stereo Soundscapes
Experience authentic, wide stereo fields with two full-sized reverb tanks, delivering rich and complex reverb textures that enhance any audio production.
The Teaching Machines Wellspring is a boutique analogue stereo spring reverb machine with two full-sized reverb tanks, dual delay lines, four sweepable stereo analogue filters, stereo pitch and filter modulation up to audio oscillator speeds, and a unique feedback loop that creates near-infinite tails. Shipped in sustainable packaging, supplied with an operation manual and external power supply, and backed by a 5-year warranty, it offers a professional-grade solution for engineers, producers and musicians seeking extraordinary depth and flexibility in reverb design.
The Wellspring houses two full-sized stereo spring reverb tanks, with four springs in total, delivering an authentic, wide and immersive stereo field. The natural warmth and depth of the analogue springs create a rich foundation for expansive and complex reverb textures.
A stereo pair of delay lines sits before the reverb tanks, offering independent or sync-able delay times with dedicated feedback control. This design allows seamless blending of delay and reverb, producing exceptionally long and evolving tails that can transform simple signals into vast soundscapes.
To prevent long reverb tails from ringing excessively, the Wellspring integrates four sweepable stereo analogue filters alongside two types of stereo modulation. The modulation runs from subtle movement to full audio-rate oscillation, enabling both refined sculpting and experimental sound design.
The Wellspring’s defining feature is its unique feedback loop that crosses over channels so the right spring feeds back into the left delay and vice versa. This circuit creates near-infinite tails and opens the door to unexpected, evolving sonic behaviours, from delicate harmonic layering to intense feedback saturation. Users must treat it with caution, as it can push signals into extreme and unpredictable territory.
The unit includes a high impedance guitar input alongside stereo line inputs and outputs, making it suitable for a wide range of studio and live applications. At 3RU in height, it fits standard 19″ racks with attachable rack ears, or it can sit securely on a desk or table using the supplied rubber feet.
