Omnidirectional Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone using a FET solid state topology Ideal for acoustic and percussive instruments.
The Telefunken M61 FET Omni Small Diaphragm Microphone is a transistor-based solid state condenser microphone designed for superior reproduction of transients and high SPL handling capabilities.
The Telefunken M61 FET Omni uses the TK61 omnidirectional capsule which can also be used with the ELA M 260 tube microphone. With a 6 micron gold-sputtered and diameter of 15mm membrane the M61 FET easily captures full lows and accurate transient response. The small diaphragm condenser microphone exhibits a flat frequency response from 150Hz up to 7kHz with a smooth air presence peak at 8kHz making it the perfect choice for percussive or acoustic instruments.
The M61 FET Omni is inspired by classic FET designs and uses a proprietary circuit topology combined with carefully selected components added manually on a gold-plated circuit board. As a result the M61 FET delivers an ultra-clean sound typical of Class A discrete amplifiers and a frequency response of +/-2dB between 20Hz and 50kHz.
The M61 FET Omni uses a custom American-made transformer to match the output and provide low self-noise and a THD+N of less than 0.015% making the M61 FET ideal for critical recording situations.
The M61 FET Omni excels at recording acoustic instruments and percussive instruments capturing all the nuances and subtleties of the instrument with impressive precision and clarity, offering a very detailed image full of definition and natural presence.
