The MM35 Gen2 integrates four drive units housed in sealed enclosures, achieving a flat and extended frequency response that reveals every detail across the audio spectrum. Its ring radiator tweeter delivers extremely wide dispersion, maintaining clarity and precision at the highest frequencies. A redesigned 5.25″ midbass driver incorporates advanced materials and engineering to deliver unrivalled midrange definition. Bass frequencies benefit from the sealed cabinet design, which enhances transient accuracy and low-end control without the phase issues of ported enclosures.

Next-Generation Amplification and DSP

Barefoot collaborated with Bruno Putzeys of Hypex to design a powerful, transparent amplifier stage, allowing the MM35 Gen2 to maintain linearity and dynamic integrity at all playback levels. At the core of the system lies a proprietary digital signal processing (DSP) crossover, developed by Thomas Barefoot over a four-year period. This crossover employs high-end converters and innovative filtering techniques to preserve phase coherence, ensuring seamless integration between all drivers and a three-dimensional, lifelike stereo image.

MEME™ Technology – Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation

The MM35 Gen2 incorporates MEME™ (Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation) technology, offering multiple voicing profiles to emulate classic studio monitors. With a single control, users can toggle from the default brutally accurate “Flat” response to three alternate modes: “Hi-Fi” simulates the response of high-end consumer speakers with a warm, rounded tone; “Old School” approximates the mid-forward, punchy sound of the legendary NS10M nearfields; and “Cube” recreates the focused, midrange-heavy tone of classic mix cubes. Rather than mimic every nuance of legacy monitors, MEME™ captures the essential sonic behaviours that influence mix translation, including frequency shaping, transient handling, phase response, and specific harmonic characteristics.
