Analogue FET Compression with Modern Control

The ng76 provides 100% analogue signal processing with +24dBu of headroom, ensuring the authentic punch, speed and aggression of a classic 76-style compressor. It offers the lightning-fast response and distinctive tone that defined countless records, while digital control ensures precision and workflow convenience.

Stereo Linking and Workflow Integration

Engineers can link two mono units via dedicated software and special cables, creating a true stereo compressor. Parameters update instantly across both units, with the option for dual mono operation where required. The integration with DAWs allows full control and recall, letting producers automate hardware parameters directly from their session.

Parallel Compression and Harmonic Control

The mix knob blends dry and compressed signals for instant parallel compression. It also allows blending of the saturation mode, which engages the FET circuit for harmonic richness and clipping effects. Total Harmonic Distortion can be adjusted via Low or High settings, shaping additional colour from the circuit.

Transformers and Input Stage Options

Carnhill transformers feature on both input and output, adding vintage character and warmth. Users can select between Vintage and Modern modes: transformer-balanced input for a more traditional sound or electronically balanced input for cleaner, transparent operation.

Two independent sidechain sections provide detailed control over compression behaviour. A high-pass filter at 60Hz, 90Hz and 150Hz keeps low-end energy intact, while a high-shelf filter at 2kHz, 5kHz and 10kHz manages brightness and enhances mid-high presence.

Advanced Metering and A/B Comparison

The ng76 combines the classic vintage gain reduction meter with precise input and output metering. Two hardware A/B buttons allow immediate switching between different settings, aiding critical comparison during mixing or mastering.

Connectivity and Automation

USB and Ethernet ports provide direct plugin integration across major DAWs including VST2, VST3, AU and AAX. Touch-sensitive encoders allow automation to be drawn or recorded in real-time, turning hardware into a seamlessly integrated part of the DAW workflow.
