Comprehensive Mixing and Mastering Tool
The ngOmniBox combines multiple analogue processing stages into one unit, allowing engineers to achieve professional-quality mixes and masters with ease and flexibility in a single hardware solution.
The WesAudio ngOmniBox is a fully analogue stereo mix and mastering processor with digital recall, combining passive EQ, bus compression, saturation, clipping, stereo width control, high-pass filtering, external insert routing and digitally controlled input and output stages in a single hardware unit. Designed as a comprehensive analogue finishing chain for professional mixing and mastering, ngOmniBox combines the sonic character and hands-on control of dedicated analogue processors with session recall, automation, A/B/C comparison and DAW plug-in control.
WesAudio designed the ngOmniBox around a flexible stereo analogue signal path that brings the core stages of a traditional mix-bus or mastering chain into one processor. Engineers can combine equalisation, compression, harmonic saturation, clipping and stereo width adjustment while retaining control over input and output gain staging.
Each processing section operates independently, so engineers can engage only the stages that suit the material. This modular approach allows ngOmniBox to handle anything from subtle mix-bus refinement to more extensive mastering and final-stage processing.
Digital control complements the analogue audio path rather than replacing it. The system provides precise parameter control, session recall and DAW integration while maintaining analogue signal processing throughout the hardware chain.
The stereo input stage provides controllable input level and dedicated metering for accurate gain staging before processing begins. An integrated high-pass filter helps manage unwanted low-frequency energy before it reaches subsequent stages.
A dedicated input insert allows engineers to incorporate additional analogue hardware into the ngOmniBox signal path. This routing expands the processor beyond its internal stages and makes it easier to integrate existing outboard equipment into a recallable mix or mastering workflow.
The fully analogue passive EQ provides broad, musical tonal shaping for mix-bus and mastering applications. Rather than focusing on narrow corrective processing, the EQ allows engineers to shape the overall tonal balance and character of a mix.
Flexible routing adds another important dimension. Engineers can place the EQ before or after the bus compressor, switching instantly between EQ-to-compressor and compressor-to-EQ configurations.
The two signal flows produce different interactions between tonal and dynamic processing. Placing EQ before compression allows tonal changes to influence the compressor response, while placing compression first lets the EQ shape the signal after dynamic control.
The integrated stereo bus compressor provides dynamics control, mix-bus cohesion and final mix shaping within the same analogue signal path. Engineers can use it for subtle dynamic control or more audible compression depending on the programme material and required result.
Independent bypass allows direct comparison with the uncompressed signal and lets the compressor leave the chain entirely when the mix does not require dynamics processing.
A dedicated analogue saturation stage introduces harmonic character and additional density independently of the EQ and compressor. Variable control allows engineers to determine how strongly saturation affects the programme material.
This independent architecture gives engineers direct control over harmonic enhancement without requiring additional compression or tonal processing. Bypass control also enables immediate comparison between processed and unprocessed signals.
The dedicated clipper provides another stage of dynamics and level management. It controls peaks, shapes transient behaviour and can help increase perceived loudness before the signal reaches the final output stage.
Because the clipper operates independently, engineers can introduce it only when the material benefits from peak reduction or transient shaping. This flexibility makes the stage suitable for both restrained mastering applications and more assertive contemporary production techniques.
The dedicated width section provides precise control over the stereo image. Engineers can adjust spatial presentation independently from equalisation, dynamics and saturation, allowing stereo enhancement to form its own stage within the processing chain.
Independent bypass makes it straightforward to assess width changes against the original stereo image without altering the settings of other processing sections.
The controllable stereo output stage provides final gain adjustment and output metering after the main processing chain. This stage supports accurate level matching and final gain staging when comparing different processing configurations.
A dedicated output insert extends the signal chain to external analogue equipment at the final processing stage. Engineers can configure this insert for conventional stereo operation or Mid/Side processing, opening additional routing possibilities for compatible external processors.
This architecture allows ngOmniBox to act as the centre of a larger analogue mastering or mix-bus system rather than limiting the engineer to its internal processing stages.
Digital control brings modern workflow advantages to the analogue processing architecture. ngOmniBox provides full digital recall of analogue parameter settings, allowing engineers to return to previous projects without manually documenting and resetting every control.
A/B/C comparison provides three processing states for fast evaluation of alternative settings. Engineers can compare different approaches without rebuilding processing chains manually.
The integrated LCD presents detailed parameter information directly on the hardware, while dedicated DAW plug-in integration provides control, automation and recall from within a production session. This combination gives analogue processing the repeatability and workflow efficiency normally associated with software.
With external insert points at both the input and output stages, ngOmniBox supports hybrid processing chains that combine its internal circuitry with additional analogue hardware. Stereo and Mid/Side output insert options further extend its mastering capabilities.
The unit measures 55 x 38 x 27 cm and weighs approximately 7.5 kg. Its EAN is 5906660299332.
