DreadBox
Dreadbox is a Greek synthesizer company founded in 2012 by Yannis and Dimitra, two childhood friends passionate about analogue synthesis. The company started as a small workshop in Athens, where they built custom synthesizers for local musicians. However, they quickly gained a reputation for their unique designs and high-quality sound, and their popularity grew beyond Greece.
In 2014, Dreadbox released its first commercial product, the Hades analogue monophonic synthesizer. It was an instant success, praised for its thick, rich sound and affordable price point. The Erebus, another analogue synthesizer with built-in delay and modulation effects, followed the Hades.
Since then, Dreadbox has continued to expand its product line with new synths, drum machines, and effects pedals. They are known for their bold, colourful designs and commitment to analogue sound. Their products have gained a cult following among electronic musicians worldwide, and they have collaborated with other companies like Erica Synths and Sinevibes to create new and exciting products.
In recent years, Dreadbox has also entered the Eurorack modular market with a range of compact and powerful modules that can be combined to create complex modular synthesizer setups. They continue to innovate and push the boundaries of analogue synthesis, earning a reputation as one of the world's most exciting and innovative synthesizer companies.
