Founded in St. Louis by designer Eric Strouth, Locomotive Audio was inspired by the tone and musicality of classic American recording hardware.

Designs such as the 14B compressor, WT-72 microphone preamp and the WT-COMP vari-mu compressor have built a strong reputation for boutique valve-based gear that combine vintage sonic character with modern reliability.

Locomotive Audio equipment is engineered around transformer-balanced signal paths, discrete analogue circuitry, and carefully tuned tube gain stages designed to deliver weight, harmonic depth, and musical colour.
