The Moog Messenger is a monophonic analogue synthesiser featuring two oscillators with wavefolding, a sub-oscillator with continuously variable waveforms, dual looping ADSR envelopes, 32 semi-weighted keys with velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, and an enhanced Moog ladder filter offering resonance bass compensation and true multimode filtering.
Innovative Circuit Design
Messenger inherits and reimagines the distinctive analogue DNA of classic Moog synthesisers such as the Minimoog Model D, Voyager, Grandmother, and Subsequent 37. Its innovative circuits include an advanced ladder filter with selectable high-pass and band-pass modes. The resonance bass compensation feature can be toggled via the dedicated RES BASS switch, enabling either preservation of low frequencies at high resonance settings or the classic resonant low-pass filter sound synonymous with Moog.
Performance-Focused Keyboard and Controls
Messenger provides performers and producers with 32 semi-weighted, full-sized keys offering precise velocity and expressive aftertouch capabilities. The robust metal interface, 256 onboard presets, and dedicated knob-per-function layout ensure immediate access to sound design parameters, enhancing real-time creativity and stage readiness.
Advanced Sequencing and Arpeggiation
A powerful internal sequencer enables sequences up to 64 steps with probability-based events, randomisation, and parameter automation. Messenger's sophisticated arpeggiator offers various rhythmic and melodic patterns, promoting endless musical experimentation through cascading note variations and evolving textures.
Deep Sound Design Potential
With two loopable ADSR envelopes and two versatile LFOs, Messenger expands sonic possibilities through complex modulation routes. Oscillator 2 supports expanded modulation depths, including frequency and audio-rate modulation, unlocking deeper sound-design versatility suitable for detailed sonic sculpting.
Extensive Connectivity Options
Messenger offers comprehensive connectivity with six analogue CV patch points for modular integration, an external audio input routed through the onboard ladder filter, expression and sustain pedal connectivity, MIDI via traditional 5-pin DIN ports, and modern USB-C MIDI integration for versatile studio and live setups.
