AMS Neve

Founded in Burnley, England, in 1976 by electronics engineer Mark Crabtree, Advanced Music Systems (AMS) became one of the most important pioneers of professional digital audio processing. The legendary RMX16 became the world’s first microprocessor-controlled, full-bandwidth digital reverberator, with programs such as NonLin, Ambience and Reverse becoming studio classics.

Today, the original AMS technology continues as part of AMS Neve, with the RMX16 available in modern 500 Series hardware while retaining the original bit-for-bit algorithms that gave the processor its distinctive sound.

Neve and AMS companies came together in 1992, combining Neve’s legendary analogue engineering with AMS’s pioneering digital technology.
