Based in Austin, Texas, Electric & Company is a boutique professional audio manufacturer specialising in hand-built valve microphone preamps and analogue processors inspired by classic American recording equipment.

With a particular focus on historic Ampex amplifier circuits, products including the EC3, EC6, EC7 and EC/SE preamps bring the character of 1950s valve recording technology into a practical modern studio format, while the EC5B extends the range into valve limiting and compression.

Electric & Company designs combine carefully selected valve stages with premium Jensen and Cinemag transformers, Mil-Spec components and modern features including phantom power, DI inputs and flexible input/output attenuation. Rather than simply recreating vintage hardware, the company builds on proven circuits such as the Ampex 350, 351 and 600-series amplifiers, retaining their harmonic colour, weight and saturation while providing the lower noise, control and reliability expected in contemporary professional recording environments.
