Best New Gear from NAMM 2026
Written by Nick MitchellNAMM 2026 has delivered a strong showing with manufacturers clearly prioritising analogue pedigree, modern hybrid workflows and genuine sonic improvements over gimmicks.
From large-format consoles and heritage microphone revivals to clever modular tools and next-generation routing solutions, here’s our roundup of the most noteworthy new releases from the show floor.
The Cranborne Audio Brick Lane MC4 stole a fair bit of the show at NAMM 2026 and frankly it’s not hard to see why. The MC4 is a four-channel analogue dynamics processor built around their distinctive PWM compression technology.
Expanding on the concept first seen in their Brick Lane 500-series modules, the MC4 delivers six distinct compression modes : VELVET, FLOAT, SMASH, TAME, GLUE, POLISH with a range of behaviours from smooth, almost vari-mu-like control through to fast, FET aggressive limiting.
Featuring a 100% analogue signal integrity with no digital conversion, every parameter is digitally controlled, with zero-latency, DAW integration and flexible routing, making it a serious contender for modern hybrid studios.

The Rupert Neve Designs OptoFET stood out as a thoughtfully engineered dynamics processor that blends two classic compression styles into one cohesive design. By combining a fast FET stage with a smoother optical circuit, the OptoFET allows engineers to stack or split compression duties without reaching for multiple boxes.
Rupert Neve Designs have also included clever sonic options such as ‘GRIT’ and ‘BLOOM’ harmonic modes, which introduce character and texture that go beyond mere level control, ideal for pushing vocals, drums or even full stems into more expressive territory without resorting to outboard saturation boxes.
A variable crossover control further expands how you shape dynamics across the spectrum, and though it’s a mono unit, paired OptoFETs with fully detented controls will make stereo work feel intuitive and powerful. Our first shipment sold out within a few days, which shows how successful a design this could prove to be.

Burl Audio continued its reputation for bold analogue tone with the BC5000 BIGFOOT Optical Compressor, a solid-state opto design infused with Burl’s unmistakable sonic weight using their switchable BX1/BX5 transformers.
Built around discrete Class-A circuitry and transformer-balanced I/O, the BIGFOOT is clearly designed to add depth and character rather than clinical control. On top of its core optical compression, it boasts a fast FET limiter circuit, a side-chain low-cut to preserve low-end groove while controlling dynamics, and a one-button de-esser for smoothing sibilant vocal tracks without extra patching.

Few releases at NAMM 2026 carried as much historical significance as the Neumann M 50 V. Neumann has faithfully revived the iconic M 50 tube microphone, a model first introduced in 1951 and instrumental in shaping orchestral and film score recordings for decades, particularly as a cornerstone of spaced omni arrays and Decca Tree techniques.
Built by hand in Germany to the original specifications but enhanced for today’s recording environments, it features a titanium diaphragm capsule for improved stability and transient response, plus RF-proof connectors and a modern external power supply.
Neumann has focused on preserving the unique spatial and tonal qualities that made the original a studio legend, offering engineers access to a truly iconic capture tool with modern manufacturing consistency.

Neve added a very welcome piece to its 500-series family with the Neve 88RLBEQ, a four-band fully parametric equaliser module that brings the sonic heritage of the flagship 88RS console into a compact format.
It feels very much like a console EQ rather than a modular compromise. The 88R LBEQ features the classic 88RS console’s analogue circuitry, ±20 dB gain, ultra‑low distortion, expansive frequency coverage from 33 Hz to 18 kHz and flexible shelving and bell options for precise, musical tone shaping and control engineers expect from Neve’s big analogue desks. This new EQ is aimed squarely at engineers who want high-end analogue equalisation within flexible 500-series setups.

SSL made a bold statement at NAMM 2026 with the Origin EVO 32, an all-analogue 32 channel inline console that builds directly on the success of the original Origin console.
Whereas the original Origin console was already aimed at bridging classic analogue workflow with DAW-centric sessions, the EVO version goes further by incorporating authentic E Series dynamics on every channel, alongside the iconic ‘Black Knob’ 242 EQ, high-and low-pass filters, and SSL’s PureDrive mic preamps across all 32 strips. This means engineers get classic 4000 E punch, gating and compression in a console that feels both deeply familiar to analogue purists and yet very much built for the way we work today.
Also available in the Origin EVO 16 format, featuring 16 channels - and SSL have provided an upgrade path for original Origin owners who wish to swap channels in banks of 8 to the new EVO channel strips.

Gainlab Audio turned a typically overlooked studio component into a premium offering with the Auditor 500 Series Headphone Amp.
It delivers > 1 W per channel power, ultra‑low distortion (< 0.005 % THD) and a flat 10 Hz‑20 kHz response in a single 500-series slot. Gainlab has incorporated robust headphone protection against DC offset, over-current and power-on transients, ideal if you’re working with costly reference headphones or switching between multiple listeners. The unit also passes the line-level input straight through, allowing you to daisy-chain the signal to other processors or monitoring gear without re-patching.

Flock Audio’s PATCH Se continues the company’s mission to simplify studio routing without compromising audio integrity and with the release of the Patch Se this caught many an engineers attention.
Building on the reputation of Flock’s patented digitally-controlled analogue routing, the PATCH Se delivers a 48-point matrix (24 inputs × 24 outputs) that lets you route line-level signals with software recall and instant reconfiguration, but without the clutter of patch cables or any A/D/A conversion in the signal path.
It’s designed around their same Flock Audio system yet streamlined into a more compact and accessible package.

ASM made a strong creative impression with the ASM Leviasynth Keyboard and Leviasynth Desktop, marking a bold new chapter for Ashun Sound Machines (ASM) and clearly seen on the show floor as a major contender in modern synthesis.
At its core lies a 16-voice hybrid algorithmic engine, with eight oscillators per voice capable of generating richly complex timbres far beyond the typical two- or three-oscillator architecture of many synths.
Over 300 selectable waveforms and 144 preset algorithms equip sound designers and keyboardists with an expansive palette, while the ability to create, save and morph algorithms between states gives Leviasynth a very modern, expressive sound design workflow. This engine is then shaped further via digital multi-mode filters (18 types) alongside an analogue 4-pole low-pass stage with pre-drive and self-oscillation, blending digital precision with warmth and character in a way that’s particularly appealing to hybrid studio environments.
